Self-esteem and empathy make sex better

A new study published in the journal «Journal of Adolescent Health» finds that people can interact and better understand the feelings of other people are likely to have satisfactory sexual life.
Personal characteristics such as self esteem and autonomy, also play a role in sexual pleasure and health.
She director of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health reported that sexual health includes sexual wellbeing and sexual pleasure is an important part of it. The method of interaction between people, their ability to hear words of each other and understand their advancement prospects can really affect their sex lives.
The study came to these conclusions analyzed data from about 3,200 students, aged from 18 to 26, surveyed during the period 2001 to 2002, under the third phase of the National longitudinal Survey of Adolescent Health.
Studying sexual satisfaction, respondents answered questions aimed at
• assessing the levels of autonomy, self-esteem and emotional understanding
• as well as sexual health and satisfaction about sex.
The autonomy and self-esteem, according to the rewiew,is defined as the power was followed by personal beliefs, even when they are contrary to conventional wisdom, which often grows into adulthood. The possibility of empathy is the ability to perceive one's outlook of others, ie to see things from another perspective and to understand and respond to the feelings of his companions.
The study found that men 87% were more inclined than women, with respective 47%, indicating that they have an orgasm most of the time or always during sex. The study also demonstrated that men enjoy more oral sex from their partners.
When the researchers compared the personality traits with measures of sexual satisfaction, namely:
• frequency of orgasm
• the level of enjoyment for providing and receiving oral sex
found that higher levels of self-esteem, autonomy and empathy were associated more with greater overall sexual pleasure in women, while men had an impact only empathy.
According to the above, the feeling in the bedroom helps people with emotional understanding to meet the needs of their partner and thus begins a positive cycle of retribution.
These developmental benefits may be more important for sexual pleasure young women, since they help to break the barriers of communication and sexual exploration, referring to the concept that women are more "limited" in the bedroom than than men.

New treatment for erectile dysfunction

New treatment for erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is one of the biggest health problems facing the modern man in the last 20 years at least.
The appearance before 10 years of medication by mouth - sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), vardenafil (Levitra) - to address the problem brought to light not only the extent (30% of sexually active men suffering from erectile dysfunction) and severity of medical, personal and emotional disturbance they cause.
Clearly, millions of men worldwide have benefited from the results of action of these drugs. More than 150,000,000 prescriptions sildenafil have been performed worldwide.
At the same time, millions of others have been disappointed by their use, since 30% of men who use them do not have the desired effect, while a further problem is the medicalization of sexual act, namely the need to use drugs to make love.
The trend of modern medicine is finding a painless, effective and noninvasive methods to deal with any medical problem. In this context, and concerning the treatment of erectile dysfunction in the recent American Urological Conference in San Francisco last June, officially announced the release machinery ED 1000.
This clinical application of a pioneering concept for the development of new blood vessels in the affected organs, an idea already used successfully for the treatment of myocardial ischaemia.
This new therapeutic approach for the treatment of erectile dysfunction with shock waves (Erectile Dysfunction Shock Wave Therapy) gives substantial hope for a permanent therapeutic solution to this problem. A new era in the treatment of erectile dysfunction and coming "in waves".
What is the rationale of treatment?
The erection is a vascular phenomenon, they are characterized by increasing blood flow to the corpus cavernosum of the penis in order to achieve sufficient hardness for penetration. Until now, treatment options for erectile dysfunction treat only the symptoms but not the cause of reducing blood flow to the penis.
The new method is based on a challenge to promote new vascular growth sectors into the penis, and promises better treatment outcomes over time, ie even after the end of treatment. The method is sign in patients with erectile dysfunction and vascular result ensures the increase of blood flow in the corpus cavernosum of the penis, with the aim to improve erectile function.
The results so far show that shock wave therapy restores erectile dysfunction small and moderately vascular. Furthermore, the method enables to improve their responsiveness to drugs in patients with severe vascular erectile dysfunction who previously had no good response to medication. Finally, it can be applied to men suffering from disease Peyronie, to improve the vascular supply.
How is the application of the treatment?
The administration of shock waves in the penis is achieved non-invasively, with a special device (OmnispecTM ED-1000 the house Medispec, Germantown, MD, USA), which emits low-intensity shock waves penetration depth up to 8 cm. The head of the special machine focuses the shock waves in the target organ, ie the corpus cavernosum of the penis throughout their length, applied externally along the penis. Advantage of method is the fact that it does not require any form of anesthesia, since it is completely painless. So far no side effects were recorded. The treatment lasts 9 weeks and the final outcome is assessed at 13 weeks.
Treatment sessions last about 15 minutes, applied twice weekly for three consecutive weeks and repeated after three weeks. According to the results of a study published in the most reputable international journal Urology, the European Urology (Vardi Y, et al. European Urology, 58, 243-248, 2010), in patients undergoing treatment there was an increase in blood flow to the penis 140%. 80% of patients in the study stopped taking medication for erectile dysfunction after treatment.
